What is the basic way of printing? (1)

How is the polyester bolting cloth printed? I will introduce it to you today.

First, direct printing:

Direct printing is a method of printing directly on a white fabric or on a pre-dyed fabric. The latter is called overprinting. Of course, the color of the printed pattern is much deeper than the background color. A large number of common printing methods are direct printing.

If the background color of the fabric is white or mostly white, and the printed pattern looks lighter than the front color from the back, then we can judge that this is a direct printed fabric (Note: due to the strong penetration of the printing paste, it is thin and light The fabric cannot be judged by this method).

If the background color of the fabric is the same in depth (because it is a piece of dye) and the print pattern is much deeper than the background color, then this is the overprint fabric.

Second, discharge printing:

The discharge printing is carried out in two steps. In the first step, the fabric is dyed in a single color, and in the second step, the pattern is printed on the fabric.

The printing paste in the second step contains a strong bleach which can destroy the ground color dye, so in this way, a blue-and-white dot pattern flower cloth can be produced, which is called whitening. When the bleaching agent is mixed with the dye which does not react with it in the same color paste (the vat dye belongs to this type), color-drawing printing can be carried out. Thus, when a suitable dye (such as a vat dye) is mixed with a colored bleach, a dot pattern can be printed on the blue fabric. Because the background color of the discharge printing is dyed first, if the same color is printed on the ground, the color of the background is much richer and deeper. This is the main purpose of using discharge printing. The discharge printed fabric can be printed by roller printing and screen printing, but cannot be printed by thermal transfer printing. Since the production cost of the printed fabric is high compared to the direct printing, the reducing agent required for the use must be carefully and accurately controlled. Fabrics printed in this way are sold better and at a higher price. Sometimes, the reducing agent used in this process can cause damage or damage to the fabric at the print pattern.

If the color of the front and back sides of the fabric is the same (because it is a piece of dye), and the pattern is white or not the same color as the background color, it can be confirmed that the printed fabric is discharged; carefully check the reverse side of the pattern, The trace of the original color is revealed (the reason for this phenomenon is that the chemical that destroys the dye cannot penetrate completely to the opposite side of the fabric).
