Can food-grade nylon filters be sterilized with boiling water
They are often used for food filtration, such as soy milk filtration, juice filtration, milk filtration, wine filtration, etc.
After using them for a long time, some people want to know if bacteria will grow on them, and tried to sterilize them by boiling them in water.
So, can nylon filters be put into boiling water to sterilize?
As you know, the boiling point of water is 100 degrees Celsius, as long as the nylon filter has a boiling point above 100 degrees, it should work.
Most material of food grade nylon filter are PA6, which have a melting point of 260 degrees Celsius, so theoretically speaking, they will be Ok when put into boiling water.
It's okay to do this occasionally. However, we do not recommend boiling them in boiling water for a long time, which will make the material easy to age, harden and turn yellow, affecting the service life of the nylon filter.
MAISHI's nylon filter mesh has passed Food Grade FDA test and can be widely used for food filtration.
